This Puja, Aparajita-Nishtha Institution Chose to Gift Health

Festivals are a time of celebration, togetherness and giving. This Puja, at the Aparajita-Nishtha Institution, we wanted to offer something that would remain meaningful long after the festivities were over — the gift of health, awareness and care. A special health camp was organised at the institution in association with Manipal Hospital Dhakuria, led by Dr. Saurodip Maity, Consultant – Paediatrics and Child Care.

The camp focused on the overall well-being of the children, with basic health check-ups and consultations aimed at encouraging awareness around preventive healthcare and the importance of understanding one’s body from an early age. For the girls, the day also included an important session on menstrual hygiene and adolescent health. The interaction created a safe and comfortable space where they could ask questions, understand their bodies better and learn about hygiene, self-care and the importance of speaking about menstruation without shame or hesitation.

At the Aparajita-Nishtha Institution, we believe education must go beyond the classroom. A child can truly learn, grow and dream only when health, nutrition, confidence and emotional well-being are given equal importance. Dr. Maity’s interaction with the children made the session informative, accessible and reassuring. His guidance helped simplify health-related concerns and encouraged the children to become more aware of their own well-being.This initiative reflects the larger vision of the Aparajita-Nishtha Institution — to create an environment where children are not only educated, but also supported with the knowledge and resources they need to lead healthier, more confident and more informed lives.

This Puja, the celebration was not just about festivity.
