Footprints

She is making footprints that we believe will brave the test of time. She is steadfast in supporting her tribe. Aparajita is on a mission to bring women of excellence closer to fulfilling their destiny.

Apart from extending financial assistance to women in education for the underprivileged such as Reba Murmu (who runs a school in a Santal village), Aparajita routinely donates school bags, stationery, and winter wear for children. In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, she provided monetary donations to various NGOs to assist them in their relief efforts. In 2023, she donated INR 50,000 per winner per category to causes that her awardees believe in, such as Nishtha, an outstanding women’s NGO.

She has collaborated with the women of Humtree, a small-batch, community-made fair trade brand that champions the cause of preserving the Sunderbans. Humtree manufactured sustainable crochet bags which were made available at the Aparajita ceremony to her esteemed guests.

She also extends unconditional media support through Sanmarg for all our nominees and jury members, helping to amplify their stories and achievements. Through initiatives like “Kadam Haat,” she offers free columns in Sanmarg to promote and support women artisans, empowering them economically.
